The Vistalegre urbanisation, located within the municipality of Terrassa, has taken an important step towards fire safety and protection by trusting Espais Verds del Vallès to carry out the work on the low-combustibility perimeter strip. The intervention covers an area of ​​5.05 hectares with a double purpose: to improve the safety of people, homes and infrastructure, and to reduce the risk of fires spreading from interior areas to the exterior.

 

DETAILS OF THE FIRE-FIGHTING WORK

 

The work, divided into two phases, has been planned to ensure effective fire prevention:

  • Phase 1: Opening of roads and construction of loading docks

In this initial stage, the opening and repair of service roads has been carried out, together with the construction of loading docks. The precise identification of the location of these loaders and tracks in phase 1 involves the clearing of waste and the removal of materials that may hinder work. On slopes greater than 25%, additional operations are carried out, such as excavation of topsoil and smoothing of slopes.

 

  • Phase 2: Density reduction and clearing

The second phase has focused on reducing tree density and clearing undergrowth. The work includes felling trees according to specific criteria, lower pruning applied to unfelled trees and shrubs taller than 3 metres, and proper management of plant waste.

 

CRUSHING OF WASTE AND WASTE MANAGEMENT

 

 

 

Detailed procedures are established for the crushing of plant waste, which we distribute evenly in the loaders, and for waste management, following municipal and national regulations.
