AMB’S WASTE TRANSPORT, WITH ITS OWN, SPECIALISED FLEET

Efficient and safe waste transport requires a fleet designed to handle the particularities of each material: efficient waste management begins with efficient and responsible transport.

TMA has vehicles adapted to each type of waste.

Within the framework of this tender, waste batteries, cables, scrap and metals will be collected using a truck with an articulated arm with pop and a truck with a platform.

With our own fleet, we guarantee efficient operations adapted to the collection and transport needs of each type of waste and each facility. In addition, waste will be transported using approved containers to avoid any impact on public roads.

The vehicles are prepared to avoid spills and guarantee the cleanliness of the environment, ensuring that waste is transported without incident and in an environmentally friendly manner.

Our more than 250 vehicles, of 11 different types, including electric and LPG hybrid models, comply with environmental and safety regulations and optimize the collection and transport process to provide an efficient and sustainable service. The incorporation of real-time geolocation systems allows us to optimize routes and reduce emissions associated with transport.

The constant modernization of our fleet reflects our effort to lead an efficient and environmentally friendly integrated waste management.

TMA has treatment facilities fully authorized by the Waste Agency of Catalonia, which guarantees the traceability of waste and quality in each process.

Our plants are equipped with approved scales and advanced technologies to ensure efficiency in management.

The treatments that will be carried out within the framework of this tender aim to maximize the recovery of materials. This includes recycling and recovery processes that allow resources to be reintegrated into the production cycle, reducing environmental impact and promoting the Circular Economy.

At TMA we have state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. Our headquarters are located in Sant Cugat del Vallès (Barcelona) and we are also present in the Port of Barcelona and in Terrassa. We have regional offices in Valencia, Alicante and Albacete.

THE VALORIZATION OF AMB WASTE AND THE EFICIENT WASTE MANAGEMENT

Gestión eficiente de residuos Valorización de residuos Economía Circular Residuo Cero AMB Puntos Limpios Puntos Verdes de ZonaOne of the fundamental pillars of TMA’s strategy is our commitment to waste valorization and the Circular Economy, transforming waste into valuable resources to reduce its environmental impact.

Through processes that maximize the use of materials, we seek to minimize waste generation and move towards a more sustainable model.

Our Zero Waste philosophy is the engine that drives innovation at each stage of materials treatment. This approach reinforces the circularity of resources and also promotes efficient solutions that benefit both the environment and communities.

With this tender, TMA consolidates its commitment to the AMB and to the principles of the Circular Economy, applying innovative solutions that prioritize the valorization of battery, cable, scrap and metal waste and promote sustainability.

In the management of the waste included in this tender, proper classification and treatment play a fundamental role in ensuring recovery:

    • Batteries (CER 160601):
These components contain heavy metals and chemical compounds that can be highly polluting if not managed properly. Their treatment includes the extraction and recovery of valuable materials such as lead, nickel or cadmium, preventing their release into the environment and promoting recycling for new industrial applications.
    • Cables (CER 170411):
Cables contain a mixture of materials such as copper, aluminium and plastic. The management of this waste focuses on separating and recovering copper, one of the most valuable metals due to its high electrical conductivity, and recycling the plastic that covers them. This process significantly reduces the need to extract virgin raw materials.
    • Scrap (CER 200140):
This type of waste includes metal fragments from household appliances, construction structures and other materials. Scrap is sorted and melted to be reused in new metal alloys, which reduces the demand for mineral resources and the energy needed to produce them from scratch.
    • Metals (CER 200140):
These include various types of metals such as iron, steel and aluminium. These materials are subjected to compaction, crushing and smelting processes for reuse in the manufacture of new products. This approach not only allows for economic savings, but also contributes to the reduction of carbon emissions associated with the primary production of metals.

TMA and waste recovery

At TMA we see each waste as a new opportunity to convert it into a valuable resource. Waste recovery allows us to transform discarded materials into useful resources, reducing their environmental impact and encouraging their reuse.

Through advanced technology and optimised processes, we ensure that recoverable materials return to the production cycle. This approach reinforces our commitment to the Circular Economy, promoting a more sustainable model and reducing the ecological footprint and dependence on non-renewable resources.

At TMA we are Zero Waste

At TMA we promote the Circular Economy and we are Zero Waste by managing waste with an approach that maximizes its value and extends its life cycle. We work to minimize as much as possible the generation of waste that cannot be valued or reincorporated into the production cycle.

The Zero Waste concept goes beyond recycling and promotes waste management that aims at the total elimination of waste. This involves designing production processes that reduce waste generation as much as possible, ensuring that materials are reused, recycled or transformed.

This comprehensive approach positions TMA as a leader in the transition towards a Zero Waste management model.

TRAINING, SAFETY AND REGULATORY COORDINATION IN WASTE MANAGEMENT

TMA staff receive specialised training to ensure safety and efficiency in their operations. This includes the handling of hazardous waste and also the correct operation of vehicles and equipment.

The use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), together with compliance with strict safety regulations, reinforce TMA’s commitment to the protection of its staff and the environment, so that people can carry out their tasks with guarantees and in a safe working environment.

TMA will coordinate business activities with SIRESA’s Occupational Risk Prevention Department, ensuring compliance with current regulations. This process includes the document management of vehicles and staff, as well as the certification of all activities related to the collection and transport of waste.

This comprehensive approach allows operations to be optimised and guarantees the well-being of workers and the communities involved.
