The Institut Català de Nanociència i Nanotecnologia (ICN2) foundation aims to become a world reference centre for nanoscience and nanotechnology research, and has entrusted the management of its hazardous and non-hazardous waste to TMA Tecnología y Medio Ambiente. At TMA we are responsible for the selective collection, approved transport, treatment, recovery, recycling or controlled disposal of waste, as well as environmental consultancy at ICN2.
DESCRIPTION OF ICN2 ACTIVITY
The ICN2 foundation, private and linked to the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, focuses on research into the physical and chemical properties of matter. With three buildings on campus, it has more than 350 employees.
SCOPE OF APPLICATION
At TMA we manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste from all ICN2 facilities, both present and future, in order to improve its teaching and research activities.
From our company we facilitate the disposal of waste to ICN2 by supplying specific containers with the indicated labelling. In this way, we help make recycling more viable, with a periodicity of 15 days.
We also provide personalized attention, we take care of document management, technical requirements, etc.
CONTAINERS, LABELLING AND TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Each type of waste requires specific and personalized containers in colors, capacities, materials and labeling. That is why we supply and collect different solid and liquid waste containers for sharp, reactive, expired and obsolete materials from ICN2.
We carry out our supply and collection service, as well as the transport of waste, scrupulously following current regulations, ensuring safety and avoiding accidental spills. In the event that any of these should occur, our staff at TMA is 100% prepared to take charge of the cleaning and decontamination process.
DOCUMENTATION AND INTERLOCUTION CONTROL
All of our comprehensive waste management processes comply with legal regulations. After each service, we provide detailed information on the work carried out using delivery notes.
At TMA, we provide a technical interlocutor who is responsible for providing technical support and holding periodic follow-up meetings with the ICN2 for and in order to continuously improve the service. We also offer periodic training to ICN2 staff on waste management, so that they can understand our way of working and ensure the Circular Economy.
This collaboration agreement with the ICN2 reinforces TMA’s position as a responsible waste manager, thus contributing to caring for the environment.
