Espais Verds del Vallès, a division of TMA, is pleased to announce that it has been selected to collaborate in carrying out work to open perimeter strips for protection against forest fires in the urban area of Gavà. This project will cover highly relevant areas, such as the urban centre, Mas Bruguers I, Mas Bruguers II, can Tries, Ca n’Espinós and la Sentiu.
THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF ESPAIS VERDS DEL VALLÈS IS CLEAR
Significantly reduce the risk of forest fires spreading from the inner areas of these population centres to the outer areas, and vice versa, thus ensuring the safety of people, their homes and the essential infrastructure of the community.
The work we will carry out will focus mainly on preventive measures and will cover the following aspects:

- Vegetation management: we will carefully adapt the vegetation to prevent and reduce the risk of forest fires in inhabited areas, thus improving the safety of people, their homes and infrastructure.
- Tree reduction and clearing: we will implement tree density reduction work, tree pruning, undergrowth clearing and treatment of plant remains.
- Waste treatment: we will remove and transport all waste generated to our treatment plants for proper management.
- Preservation of biodiversity: our commitment is to respect and prioritize the plant and animal species native to the area.
With more than 35 years of experience, at Espais Verds del Vallès we will address each type of vegetation in a personalized way, differentiating between adult trees, young trees and scrub areas. In the coming months, work will include:

- Low branch pruning: we will carry out pruning on low branches, adjusting the height to their characteristics and conditions, to ensure the health of the tree while preventing the vertical spread of fire in the event of a fire.
- Cleaning and pruning at the base of trees: we will attend to trees with deformities, aging, death or infestations to maintain their health and reduce the risk of fire.
- Protection of protected species and active nests: we will take special measures to protect endangered species and biologically active nests.
- Erosion control: in areas with sparse vegetation or steep slopes, we will stabilise the ground to protect it against natural erosion.
- Efficient wood storage: the waste resulting from the work will be stacked in an orderly and compact manner at the nearest loading points to take up as little space as possible.
Our goal is to contribute to the protection of the region and its biodiversity against forest fires, while ensuring the safety and well-being of the Gavà community.
