Espais Verds acts to reduce the risk of fires in Corbera de Llobregat

Espais Verds del Vallès has obtained the tender to carry out forestry work in the Can Coll, Les Cases Pairals and Creu de l’Aragall developments, in Corbera de Llobregat, to reduce the risk of fires spreading. With this action we reinforce our commitment to safety and environmental protection and move forward in sustainable and efficient forest management. Below, we will tell you all the details about the actions we will take to improve safety and preserve the forest environment.

FORESTRY WORKS AND FIRE PREVENTION IN CORBERA DE LLOBREGAT

This tender includes first-intervention forestry work (reopening of the perimeter strips) in the Can Coll housing estates and also work in the green areas of les Cases Pairals and la Creu de l’Aragall to reduce the risk of fires spreading and ensure the safety of people, homes and infrastructure.

With the work we will carry out in Corbera de Llobregat, we will improve the safety of the housing estates, significantly reduce the risk of fires spreading and protect the natural environment.

Access for fire-fighting teams to the entire perimeter of the town will also be facilitated if necessary.

With this tender, Espais Verds guarantees compliance with the actions planned in the Forest Fire Prevention Plan for the urbanisations and population centres of Can Coll, les Cases Pairals and la Creu de l’Aragall, included in the Forest Fire Prevention Section of the Barcelona Provincial Council.

The actions will be completed in December 2024.

Total surface area and scope of action

The works will cover a total area of ​​31,892 hectares.

The actions are divided into 2 groups:

• Group 1

Can Coll (perimeter strips): 6,930 ha

Les Cases Pairals (perimeter strips): 8,520 ha

Les Cases Pairals (green areas and public plots): 1,2442 ha

Total area of ​​action for Lot 1: 16,694 ha

• Group 2

La Creu de l’Aragall (perimeter strips): 11,370 ha

La Creu de l’Aragall (green areas and public plots): 3,830 ha

Total area of ​​action for Lot 2: 15,2000 ha
