The Clean Points, with 4,800 tons of paper and cardboard, are the next challenge for TMA
TMA has obtained the tender from SIRESA Soluciones Integrales para los Residuos, S.A to carry out the collection, transport and treatment of paper and cardboard from the Clean Points in Barcelona and the Metropolitan Area.
CLEAN POINTS OF OPERATION
The scope of action is 18 Clean Points, including:
In Barcelona
- PVZ Collserola
- PVZ Les Corts-Pedralbes
- PVZ Montjuïc
- PVZ Sant Andreu, etc.
In the Metropolitan Area
- Barberà del Vallès
- Begues
- Cornellà de Llobregat
- Ripollet
- Sant Climent de Llobregat
- Sant Feliu de Llobregat, etc.
It is estimated that 4,800 tonnes will be collected over the next 3 years, a significant amount of waste that needs to be managed correctly to ensure the minimum possible environmental impact.
In addition to paper and cardboard, we will also provide services related to other types of waste such as VHS and cassettes, plastic film, rigid and porex, wood, pruning and mattresses. Similarly, we will provide the asbestos collection and transport service in the Barcelona Metropolitan Area.
CIRCULAR ECONOMY AND WASTE RECOVERY
Most waste can be recovered and therefore recycled and converted into new products. This is the case with paper, cardboard, glass, metal, pallets, WEEE, wood and plastic.
At our plant for sorting and recycling recoverable materials in Sant Cugat del Vallès we have our own baling presses, mills and shredders where we select, pack and/or shred materials and thus give a second life to many waste products.
Thanks to the great potential for reuse of many waste products, recycling paper and cardboard reduces the need for virgin raw materials, reducing deforestation and the consumption of water and energy in the production of new products.
The waste generated at the Clean Points in the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona, which we recover and transform at TMA, contributes significantly to the Circular Economy.
LARGE FLEET OF OWN VEHICLES
We have more than 250 vehicles of 11 different types that guarantee a fast and efficient collection, transport and itinerant compaction service for industrial, non-hazardous and hazardous waste (solid and liquid).
The waste is transported in the most suitable vehicles according to the type of waste: hooklifts, octopus trucks, chain container carriers, cranes, tankers, boxes, flatbed trailers, moving floor trucks, rear-loading compactors, front-loading compactors and rear-loading compactors – Jumbo.
Our vehicles are equipped with the necessary elements for collection and transport and include electric and LPG hybrid models.
In order to comply with the specifications of this tender, we have the necessary logistics to transport the waste to our plant and there we carry out the sorting, recovery and recycling to then convert most of this waste into new products.
CERTIFICATIONS AND REGULATIONS IN FORCE
We comply with the regulations established for the transport of all types of waste and we adapt to the treatment needs required by each type.
At TMA we are authorised as “Waste Managers” to treat the corresponding waste in each of our centres in Catalonia, the Valencian Community and Castilla-La Mancha and we have the following certifications:
- UNE-EN-ISO 9001. Certification of Quality Management Systems
- UNE-EN-ISO 14001. Certification of Environmental Management Systems
- UNE-EN-ISO 45001. Certification of Health and Safety Management Systems at work
In relation to the service provided to SIRESA, TMA complies with current regulations regarding the transport of dangerous and non-dangerous goods and we are authorised by the Agència de Residus de Catalunya (ARC).
