TMA has started urban waste management services for the University of Alicante, in San Vicente del Raspeig (Alicante). Specifically, we are in charge of the collection, transport and treatment of waste at our authorised plants, mainly at the Guadassuar facilities, thus contributing to recycling and promoting the Circular Economy.

The service we provide at TMA includes the placement of containers, compactors and dumpers at the UA Waste Park and the University Science Park, as well as other points where necessary. These elements are essential to facilitate the correct separation and disposal of the different types of waste generated on campus.

 

WASTE WE MANAGE AND APPROPRIATE CONTAINERS

 

In this case, we manage waste similar to urban waste, that is, waste that does not require special precautions in its management, originating as a consequence of daily activity on the university campus and maintenance work.

For each waste, we provide a specific container, to optimize the subsequent management of each one:

    • Paper and cardboard: 20 m3 compactor and dumper.
    • Confidential documentation: approximately 250 L closed bins with letterbox-type opening.
    • Packaging and packaging waste: 20 m3 compactor and dumper.
    • Glass containers: 2 green 3 m3 containers, bell-type.
    • Flat glass: 0.5 m3 container, wagon-type.
    • Household goods: 20 m3 container.
    • Construction and demolition waste: 2 m3 to 12 m3 containers.
    • Pruning and gardening waste: 5m3 and 20m3 containers.
    • Waste from electrical and electronic equipment: 10 cage-type containers, of at least 1m3.
    • Waste from plant tissue: 60L containers with hermetic seal.
    • Other urban waste derived from the activity. → according to the type of waste and the need.

 

In this way, we collect the containers when they are required according to the needs, we replace them with new ones and we take them to our authorized treatment plant, prioritizing the reuse and recycling of all waste, which is treated following sustainability criteria and in accordance with current legislation.

One of the outstanding characteristics of our service is the speed of response, especially in emergency situations or when a container must be changed due to breakdown or filling. At TMA we make sure that all containers, compactors and dumpers are in optimal condition, and any request for container emptying is attended to within 24-48 hours.

 

 

TREATMENT AND ADVICE

 

Once we transfer the waste to our plants, we take care of the correct management for each one of them, applying the indicated treatment and maximizing recycling, following our Zero Waste Philosophy.

The collaboration between TMA and the University of Alicante is not only limited to waste management, but we also provide advice to optimize the service and contribute to caring for the environment. DESTRUCTION OF CONFIDENTIAL DOCUMENTATION

 

Apart from comprehensive waste management, our main activity, we also dedicate our efforts to other auxiliary services such as the destruction of confidential documentation.

The University of Alicante has 43 buildings, which is why we place at least 1 container of up to 250L in each of them for the storage of the company’s private material that must be eliminated.

We establish periodic removals and carry out final bulk removals of documentation, if required by the organization.

We separate materials, paper, CDs, DVDs, diskettes, USBs… for their correct destruction and recycling when possible.

At TMA we take care of the security of our clients. We take the privacy of the data of companies and industries seriously, which is why one of our lines is based on the destruction of confidential material.
