TMA manages the biosanitary and scientific waste of the Barcelona Science Park

Our actions will maximise efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of waste from the scientific and technological sector and research. WASTE MANAGEMENT AT THE SERVICE OF TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION

 

The Barcelona Science Park (PCB) includes research institutes, companies, and other entities that contribute to the ecosystem of innovation, life sciences, and technology.

In this context, TMA will contribute to the provision of the removal, transport, management and disposal service for the different biomedical waste (group II, III, IV), remains of experimental animals, chemical waste and industrial waste generated by the activities carried out in the PCB research laboratories, in accordance with current legislation on waste and complying with current regulations.

In general terms, the waste management services that TMA will carry out to meet the requirements of this tender are:

• • Supply of containers and packaging of various sizes
  • Removal of full containers
  • Transport and storage
  • Treatment, disposal or recovery whenever possible, ensuring that each waste is properly disposed of
  • Delivery of the necessary documentation to comply with legal obligations
  • Periodic monitoring reports

 

At TMA we guarantee the quality of all our waste management services, from the packaging of the waste, its transport and subsequent treatment. Likewise, by working with our own means and facilities, we ensure the traceability of the entire process, providing the corresponding treatment certificate.

 

WE PROVIDE APPROVED AND SAFE PACKAGING AND CONTAINERS

 

At TMA we have a wide variety of containers, boxes and compactors with different characteristics and capacities, suitable for the storage and transport of all types of waste.

If necessary, we can also manufacture customised containers to adapt to the specific needs of each client.

TMA will provide the Barcelona Science Park with different types of specific packaging and containers, small and medium-sized, for the packaging of each type of waste, solid and liquid, hazardous and non-hazardous. We guarantee maximum traceability and safe treatment.

 

Our wide range of containers and packaging will allow us to fulfil all the waste collection and transport services of the Barcelona Science Park (PCB): 

• • Service for the removal, transport, management and disposal of biomedical waste (GII, GIII and GIV)
  • Service for the removal, transport, management and disposal of remains of experimental animals.
  • Service for the removal, transport, management and disposal of liquid and solid chemical waste.
  • Service for the removal, transport, management and disposal of contaminated containers and glass.
  • Service for the removal, transport and management of bulky objects, wooden pallets and other non-hazardous waste.
  • Supply of approved containers for Group III and Group IV biomedical waste and chemicals, with symbols identifying biological risk and cytotoxic material.
  • Supply of approved bags for GII medical waste.
  • Supply of bags for the collection of experimental animals.
  • Supply of large bags suitable for the containment and removal of polystyrene® boxes.
  • Supply of plastic drums suitable for the collection of liquid chemical waste of different volumes.
  • Supply of plastic, cardboard or other material containers suitable for containing solid waste produced by chemical activity.
  • Collection of liquid chemical waste in specific containers.
  • Corresponding labels for the transport of dangerous goods.
  • Delivery of all the necessary documentation to comply with current legal regulations.

 

SAFE MANAGEMENT OF BIOSANITARY WASTE

 

At TMA we offer an efficient service in the comprehensive management of Biosanitary waste.

We manage hospital waste from groups I, II, III and IV, a competitive advantage that makes us a benchmark in the collection, transport and treatment of healthcare waste.

For all these reasons, large public and private hospitals, veterinary clinics, laboratories, pharmacies, health centres and professionals in the healthcare sector trust TMA.

We offer approved containers of different capacities:

• • Group III: from 0.6 to 60 L.
  • Group IV: containers of 5 L / 10 L / 30 L / 50 L and 60 L.
  • Other containers: containers for liquid waste, with a capacity of 5 L to 30 L.

 

We transport the waste in our fleet of approved vehicles. The entire process is supported by a traceability system that guarantees safety at each stage.

For treatment, we use an autoclave sterilization system, which transforms biomedical waste into inert waste, thus complying with the most demanding regulations and guaranteeing minimal environmental impact.

 

APPROVED, EFFICIENT AND SAFE TRANSPORT

 

The transfer of PCB waste to the treatment and disposal plants will be carried out in compliance with the legal requirements for the transport of waste.

At TMA we have a wide variety of vehicles with the latest technological advances.

Our fleet is equipped with a geolocation system that, through the use of mobile devices, allows us to monitor the status of all operational services in real time to optimize the routes and movements of the vehicles.

With our large fleet of more than 250 vehicles of 11 different types, we offer an agile and personalized service for the transport of waste.

 

We are sustainable in the transport of waste and we reduce emissions and the environmental impact of our collection services.

The PCB periodically removes waste from the laboratories and stores it in the spaces enabled for this purpose. TMA will be responsible for correctly packing the drums and labeling the packaging. It will also carry out the transfer of waste from the warehouse to the vehicles approved and enabled for transport.
