We obtain the 1st “CALCULO” certification in the Carbon Footprint Registry

Climate change and concern for the environment are fundamental issues and companies have a key responsibility in reducing the carbon footprint. At TMA we work every day to achieve this, with our Zero Waste philosophy, contributing to the Circular Economy and implementing efficient and innovative processes in waste management. For all these reasons, we have obtained the “CALCULO” seal in the Carbon Footprint Registry of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO). WE OBTAINED THE “CALCULO” SEAL IN THE CARBON FOOTPRINT REGISTRY

 

At TMA we have obtained the “CALCULO” seal, which is included in the “Carbon footprint, compensation and CO₂ absorption projects registry” established by MITECO.

This certification endorses our commitment to the fight against climate change, which we have been carrying out for more than 60 years, and demonstrates our constant effort to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions that we generate in our activities.

This seal endorses our commitment to sustainability and to caring for the environment and reinforces the efforts we make to achieve the reduction and compensation of emissions.

Our commitment does not end with obtaining this seal, so we will continue working to reduce the impact of waste on the environment. We want this effort and commitment to be reflected also with obtaining the “REDUZCO” seal, a certification that we are already working on and later in obtaining the “COMPENSO” seal.

Our commitment is clear: calculate our carbon footprint, reduce the environmental impact and compensate by innovating and being increasingly efficient in our processes.

 

WHAT ACTIONS DO WE CARRY OUT AT TAMA TO REDUCE EMISSIONS?

 

At TMA we guarantee the efficient and circular management of waste to reduce the impact of materials and our activity on the environment as much as possible.

These are some of the actions we carry out:

1. We constantly renew our own fleet of vehicles to make them more sustainable and thus move towards low-emission mobility.
2. We optimize routes with geolocation systems and software, streamlining our services and reducing emissions derived from transport.
3. We minimize the sending of waste to controlled deposits, valorizing all materials susceptible to recycling, transforming them into new products and promoting the Circular Economy.
4. We research and implement continuous improvement in our waste treatment processes to reduce the impact of our actions as much as possible.
5. We develop our own cutting-edge technology in the treatment of biomedical waste, medicines and cosmetics.
6. We seek new formulas and processes to improve the capacity and quality of recovery of fuel obtained in MARPOL I waste recovery processes.
7. We implement consumption and energy saving measures in our vehicles, treatment plants and offices.
8. We hire energy supply companies that guarantee 100% renewable energy.

• Reduction of water consumption: implement water saving and reuse systems.
• Sustainable materials: use ecological and recyclable materials in production and in the office.
• Digitalization and reduction of paper use: automate and digitalize processes to reduce paper consumption.

Certificate of approved company as a recycler/recoverer of Ecoembalajes España, S.A. for STEEL, ALUMINIUM, CARDBOARD, BEVERAGES/FOOD, PAPER/CARDBOARD.

We are also authorised as waste managers to treat the corresponding waste in each of our centres in Catalonia, the Valencian Community and Castilla-La Mancha and we have the corresponding approvals as transporters.
