WE ARE ZERO WASTE
At TMA, we are governed by the Zero Waste philosophy, seeking to reduce to a minimum the amount of waste that ends up in controlled deposits. This project is perfectly aligned with our principles:

Waste minimization: we implement measures to reduce the amount of waste generated.
Recycling and recovery: Group I waste, which is mostly recyclable, is segregated and transported to material recovery plants.
Training and awareness: we carry out annual environmental awareness and training campaigns for IAS healthcare personnel, promoting better classification and recycling practices.
The quality of separation at source has a direct impact on the reduction of non-essential waste and the increase in recoverable waste.
Innovation and technology in healthcare waste management
We use advanced technology for efficient waste management:
- Electronic processing: all documentation related to waste management is processed electronically, facilitating traceability and regulatory compliance.
- Compactors and smart containers: we provide modern and efficient equipment to optimize waste storage and transportation, ensuring regular cleaning and maintenance of this equipment.
Environmental and social impact
Our goal goes beyond complying with regulations; we want to reduce the environmental impact of hospital waste and improve working conditions:
- Reducing the carbon footprint: by optimising transport routes and using efficient vehicles, we reduce CO2 emissions.
- Health and safety: we guarantee that our staff and that of the hospital work in safe conditions, minimising the risks associated with handling waste.
Our experience and resources allow us to offer a high-quality service, aligned with the zero-waste philosophy, benefiting both the environment and the hospital community of the Parc Hospitalari Martí i Julià del Institut d’Assistència Sanitària.
