Scientific research, especially biomedical research, is a driving force of progress and social well-being. However, it also generates a wide variety of waste types that require specialized management. Ensuring that this waste is properly treated is key to ensuring that research can be conducted in a safe and environmentally friendly environment. Therefore, it is essential to have a waste management system that protects people, ensures regulatory compliance, and minimizes environmental impact. At TMA, we have been awarded the contract for the <strong>comprehensive waste management of biomedical and industrial waste at the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB)<\/strong>, and we will make it possible. Our commitment to this project is comprehensive and includes the removal, transportation, and management of all waste, with a focus on the <a title=\"Circular Economy\" this progress comes with an environmental responsibility: ensuring that waste derived from work in laboratories and research centers is managed properly.<\/p>\n<p>At TMA, we understand that <strong>there can be no quality science without quality waste management.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We have been awarded the tender for the comprehensive management of biomedical and industrial waste at the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB).<\/p>\n<p>This project is more than just a contract: it is a <strong>partnership between science and sustainability.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>And it represents a (Radioactive waste is excluded.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">Specific research waste: sawdust from animal facilities and carcasses of experimental animals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\"><a title=\"Waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE)\" href=\"http:\/\/tma.es\/en\/como-reducir-el-impacto-ambiental-de-los-raee\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE)<\/a>, confidential paper, batteries, cold gel packs, and industrial fats and oils.<\/p>\n<p>At TMA, we will contribute our experience and technical capacity to ensure safe, traceable, and sustainable management at all stages.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"THE_PILLARS_OF_INTEGRATED_WASTE_MANAGEMENT\"><\/span><strong>THE PILLARS OF INTEGRATED WASTE MANAGEMENT<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>The waste management that TMA will implement for the PRBB is based on these fundamental pillars:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Minimization and separation at source:<\/strong> We will work closely with PRBB researchers and staff to optimize waste segregation. Proper separation at source is the first and most important step to enable its subsequent recovery. We will provide the necessary approved containers and receptacles (from 5L chemoboxes for hazardous waste to 20m\u00b3 containers for sawdust) and offer ongoing training to ensure the success of this process.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Absolute <a title=\"Traceability\" href=\"http:\/\/tma.es\/en\/traceability\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">traceability<\/a> and regulatory compliance<\/strong>: We guarantee the complete traceability of each waste, from its collection in the laboratory to its final treatment in our authorized plants. We operate with transparency, submitting the regulatory documentation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Recovery is a priority:<\/strong> Our goal is to prioritize management pathways that enable the material or energy recovery of waste.
